Bite Beauty Lip Pencils are finally here! Influenster sent me these last month to test in exchange for an honest, impartial review, but LIFE got in the way. My hubby and I moved to a new place because I got a new job as a digital content strategist for a beauty company. Hurray! But Corporate Philippines is so different from Corporate America, so I had to unlearn and learn so many things. 🙂
Anyway, I received 4 Bite Beauty goodies: 2 lip pencils and 2 lipsticks from their Amuse Bouche line. To be honest, I wasn’t quite thrilled with what I got because they’re not the shades that I would normally use.
The first set was a combo of Bite Beauty Lip Pencil #020 (Beige Nude) and Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb. I liked the lip liner because the pigment was identical to my skin tone so it looked quite natural (you won’t even notice it in the left picture below). The lipstick, on the other hand, was too pale for me, so I mixed it with my favorite Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip in Glace.
The second set was not my style at all. I got Bite Beauty Lip Pencil #044 (Rich Mahogany) paired with Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Whiskey.
Although they’re super hydrating and glided really well (both the liner and the lippie), the colors were too bold for my taste. But if you’re into these shades, I highly recommend them. The color payoff is excellent.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
Because the lip liners are made with whipped shea butter, they can be too soft and, therefore, bend or break easily. I had to apply them with very little pressure so they wouldn’t break. But apart from that, it’s great. I love the creamy texture and the pigmentation.
Bite Beauty Lip Pencils retail for $18 at Sephora.
Have you tried any of these? How was your experience?
