Indeed, time flies so fast. It was only last year since I started this blog and vowed to give you guys an update of the Golden Globe Awards. And now, the 2012 Golden Globe Awards has concluded and the winners have been revealed. Check out the list of winners at the bottom of this post.
On to my main subject—the Best Dressed list. I only picked out my top 5 choices though, as there were only a few good ones to choose from. It puzzles me how some Hollywood celebrities make awful choices when it comes to their wardrobe. I mean, hey, they are like the highest paid celebrities in the world and they can’t hire a decent stylist? Not that I’m a good dresser myself, but you understand what I mean, right?
The fifth spot would go to Kate Beckinsale. She chose a Roberto Cavalli gown and matched her look with diamond bracelets and earrings.
My fourth choice would be this Basil Soda dress worn by E! personality and Fashion Police panelist Giuliana Rancic. I’m digging the torso details, which give a conservative yet sophisticated vibe.
This is my third. Oh viva Versace! Haha. Aside from Nicole Kidman looking sexxxay in this dress, I also love how the torso details were constructed. It looks so structured, prolly because of the diagonal bodice cuts you see. I’m not sure though about the gold detailing/studs(?)—they look a bit over-the-top to me, which could be the reason why she kept her accessories minimal. Balance is key.
Second, one perfect example of a celebrity who always gets it right is Angelina Jolie. If you watched last year’s GGAs, then you could recall her looking so stunning in a sparkly green dress. This look of hers is no different. She was jaw-dropping in this year’s Golden Globes, thanks to this Atelier Versace gown. I’m not really a fan of satin or any glossy fabric, but the pop of red won me over.
And my top best dressed gal is no other than my forever girl crush Charlize Theron, who graced the red carpet in Dior Haute Couture gown and vintage Cartier jewels. The way her hair was styled is impeccable. Truly, she looked like a real Grecian or Greek goddess, if I may say.
So there are my best dressed ladies. But I think though there’s one girl who deserves a special mention. I’ve never really seen her as a fashion icon, but her look at last night’s GGAs is refreshing:
Yep, it’s indeed Zooey Deschanel! I loved how she showed her quirky and unique sense of style. This Prada dress complete with black and green embellishments stayed true to her personality.
