Dog Days

I think the hardest piece to style is denim pants. They’re too laid back, and without stand-out pieces, a person can look ordinary, sometimes sloppy. I’ve had these pants for quite a while now (thank you, Wrangler) but I can’t seem to find the pieces that will complement it.

I don’t wear grunge well, so I decided to stick to my usual happy-color, happy-me outfit—pink with some green. The summer officially began—which also meant hello, dog days—when we took these photos, so I made sure to wear a light, sleeveless top.

We went to Ronac Art Center in San Juan for a magazine photo shoot. The building has beautiful architecture—a wide winding staircase is something you won’t really expect from a building that houses indie apparel. I wish I could share photos of the shop we shot, but alas, publishing policies won’t allow me. They will be published in CLAVEL Magazine’s April-May issue though, which will be out next month (I think).

Chad and I had been very busy the past few weeks, which explains the lack of post (and make-up LOL) in this blog.  But no matter, we finished all our assignments last week and we’re as free as birds again—a little. We traveled up north this week and I can’t wait to share pictures… but if you’re following me on Instagram and Twitter, I’m sure you’ve seen some of the breathtaking views I shared from our trip.

We love traveling and checking out beaches and surf spots. We always fantasize owning a VW  minibus like the one behind us in the pictures, so we don’t have to chase bus trips and what not. Transporting surfboards can get really exhausting sometimes. On one hand, traveling won’t be as memorable without adventure, right?

Beach Bunny Blog Giveaway (CLOSED)

Hello! As you know, I and ze boyfriend made a video titled Beach Bunny, which I shared a few days ago. We love it so much that we want everyone to see it, not only because we made it but also because we believe beautiful photographs and videos need not always be captured in HD. In this day and age, everything is in HD that we sometimes fail to appreciate the beauty of the not-so-new. Sometimes, pictures and films look more real and genuine when they’re a bit gritty and grainy IMO.

I honestly think this video of ours will lose its appeal if we didn’t use a Holga lens, a lens that yields a vignette:

What do you think? Now to give more people a chance to see the video, here’s how you could help us in spreading, which may get you a chance to win 1000 pesos worth of Wrangler gift certificates YAAAAY!!! (will post a photo of the GCs tomorrow):

Wrangler Fall/Winter Collection Launch

Wrangler is one of the biggest denim brands with hundred years of denim heritage. Founded in 1904, Wrangler was originally named Blue Bell, and rooted as a work wear company specializing in Overalls. In 1947, the name Wrangler was born, which means “working cowboy”. Since then, Wrangler has delivered denim innovation and authentic craftsmanship, and stayed true to its devotion to denim history.

Wrangler is known for its trademark design called the 7 Icons, which speaks of impeccable form and function. I’m not really particular with pants, most especially the designs, but looking at Wrangler’s presentation below, you would actually see how much thought was poured in creating a pair of jeans that are both stylish and functional.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be invited to Wrangler’s Fall/Winter Collection Launch at Robinsons Manila. The event was hosted by the bubbly Kim Jones (below). I love her shoes.

The fall/winter collection is a story of two people who travel and explore places, inspired by the thrill of discovery. Every destination is represented in Wrangler clothing pieces–colorful tops are inspired by the sunrise, which signals the beginning of the journey.

The above photos are just a few of the pieces you’ll be seeing in Wrangler stores, but let me show you more through this short clip I made. The video contains some footage and photos from the fashion show.

I also managed to take some photos of the denim bar:

But what I loved the most are the displays! I’m in love with photos like the ones below. I love traveling as well, it does good things to the soul.

I wish Wrangler would also sell these luggages! Haha. I wanted to nick them and take them home. Thank god I was able to restrain myself. Haha.

And those are just some of the good things you can expect from your favorite Wrangler branch. But of course, I need to thank Melai of Style and Soul for inviting me. It’s been a while since my last fashion show so I’m extremely grateful. I had a great time. Thanks, Melai!

Meet Jay and Sophia. Yay for new friends!

I’m leaving you with this awesome ad by Wrangler. It makes me want to hop on a car (though I can’t drive haha) and go somewhere.  It’s nice to be spontaneous sometimes.
