#LuxNights with Solenn Heussaff

I love being a woman at this point in our history because there’s no limit to what we can achieve. We can vote, dress however we want, and get careers that fit our skills. I know we still have a long way to go, but looking back I can’t help but feel proud of the progress we’ve made.

Balancing our career with our personal life can be quite exhausting sometimes though. That is why it is important for us women to take a breather once in a while. Otherwise, we’d turn into a monster, especially if you are a moody person like me lol. Sometimes, getting a much-needed pampering after all that hard work is just what we need to calm our nerves. You don’t even have to go that far–you can turn your bathroom into a relaxing sanctuary by stocking on scented candles and bath essentials, like LUX.

Last week, I was invited by LUX Philippines to join them for a night with Solenn Heussaff. I haven’t seen her in person but I am a fan of her art so I couldn’t say no. Plus, LUX was launching Solenn’s online film, which demonstrates how busy women can bathe with perfume by using LUX’s line of body wash.

The collection is composed of four scents–White Impress, Magical Spell, Soft Touch, and Love Forever. During the interview, Solenn and another guest, international model Kelsey Merritt, revealed they love Magical  Spell. The great thing about this line is that it has something for every mood. Maybe I was feeling girly that day that’s why I prefer Soft Touch.

Bathing with LUX is very easy to do. After choosing your preferred scent, you can indulge by following this ritual:

With the new LUX Perfumed Bath Collection, every busy day will now be celebrated with an indulgent #LUXnight that every woman deserves. Check out Solenn’s film here:

Leighton Meester meets Solenn Heussaff

Yesterday was a crazzzy day. I “modeled” and styled for my photographer friend, Sam Lim at Hinge Inquirer Publications office. Plus, I got to see what an actual magazine publication office looks like. I scanned the whole office and I thought, “this is my dream job, my dream workplace.” We’ll see. Maybe next year? 🙂

Going back, I styled for an Esquire-inspired shoot yesterday. It’s actually quite sexy for my taste, but heck, sexy can still look classy when styled the right way. I considered it a challenge. And I do hope the photos will come out looking classy. HAHA. Sam, the pressure is on you, mate!

The peg for Princesz, the model, was Solenn Heussaff’s photos found on Esquire:

I wanted to tone down the sexiness a bit so I chose a nude oversized sweater instead and made the model wear accessories to add some style. Elaine Silva did a great imitation of the make up. Below is a behind-the-scene photo I was able to take while Sam was doing his thing. 😀

After Princesz’s shoot was done, it was my turn. Dun dun dun. I chose a more daring make up, which was inspired by Leighton Meester’s beauty shoot for Marie Claire:

Leighton, why so gorgeoussss!

Below is an outtake of what the make-up artist, Ms. Wilma Esturco, came up with:

I can’t wait to show you, guys, the actual photos! Come back soon . 🙂

Preview Magazine Collection Starts NOW

Everyone close to me knows that I am so in love with fashion. It does not seem like it when I dress up on ordinary days, but my increasing number of fashion magazines at my dorm room is an attestation to my love for anything chic and glam. So last month, I bought my first ever Preview magazine. As the magazine’s tagline states, it is the best-selling fashion magazine in the Philippines. I don’t know if that is correct (like when all novels at bookstores boast that they are best-sellers), one thing I am sure of though is that Preview shouts FASHION from the cover to the inside pages.

My first Preview mag is that of Cristine Reyes on the cover. Cristine frequented men’s mags so it was quite a surprise (for her and for many of us) that Preview got her to do a cover shoot. Nevertheless, the Louis Vuittons she donned suited her. She looked very sophisticated and captured the vintage-nostalgic effect that Preview was going for (a lot of help came from the six-digit LV pieces and the cat’s eye make up, too). Steamy!

A Php 150 magazine is a little expensive for my heavily budgeted income, but hey, it’s a lot cheaper comparing to those adorable shoes I’ve been eyeing at Parisian. And so I bought my second Preview magazine with Solenn Heussaff on the cover. I never really fancied her beauty, but when I saw the Preview cover two days ago, she won me hands-down. Solenn is not your typical controversial celebrity; she is a fashion designer and a make-up artist at the same time. Whoa to that!

Aside from the gorgeous Tory Burch 2011 Resort Collection Solenn sported, Preview launched the first ever Augmented Reality issue. Curious? Just grab a copy of December 2010 issue of Preview, then go to http://www.stylebible.ph/preview_augmented_reality/. Btw, you must have a webcam, and you will be able to travel the world with Solenn. So cool!

Well, I cannot wait for the new year’s edition. Let’s all have a blast this Christmas. 🙂
