Matrix

I promised last week that I will be showing you how my DIY faux leather crop top looks when worn, so here are some pictures.

This whole look reminded me of the movie The Matrix, what with the leather and the shades I’m sporting. I had to tuck the top in though because the skater skirt is too high-waisted, but I think it worked well.

IMG_3091The back is my favorite part of the design because it’s sexy without being overboard. I intentionally made the front part look modest to offer balance, and to provide a bit of mystery *wink*.

Is it obvious that I’m having too much fun creating my own clothes? I don’t think I’d be stopping soon, so you’ll definitely see lots of DIYs in the coming months.

I know I’ve shown you how I make my skater skirts, but I have a soft spot for polka dots; I had to buy this skirt immediately when I saw it online. It’s very affordable too and very well-made. It makes me glad knowing that there are still online shops that offer great stuff at a very affordable price.

Take for example these pair of high-heeled shoes I bought last year from Zalora. Normally shoes don’t last me a year but these babies are still good as new, which is amazing because I’ve used them countless times already. Woot! I was actually quite hesitant to purchase from them at first because I’ve had horrible experiences with several OL shops in the past; however, Zalora proved to be different. I remember receiving my order the next day in a carefully wrapped box and having no trouble with my credit card payment.

Christmas is just around the corner and I usually make a mental list of trustworthy stores where I can shop for presents. Christmas… How time flies! Last year I was spending every waking moment with my significant other and now we’re spending the holidays apart again. I feel more secured now with our relationship though, we’ve been through tough times and those only made our relationship stronger than ever.

A lot of people do not believe in long-distance relationships. It’s difficult, I agree–but with the right mindset coupled with commitment and communication, it won’t be as hard.

How to Wear Crop Tops With Style

The Philippines is quite a conservative country. Any outfit that shows more skin than the usual would elicit lots of stares from people–from admiration to disgust–depending on their fashion awareness. The summer season, however, is the time of the year that it’s almost excusable to wear anything short and revealing, except in schools, churches, offices, and even malls.

Swimsuits are like the beach uniform, but if you’re a little more conservative, crop tops are the best summer outfit option:

SOME IDEAS ON HOW TO WEAR THEM

1. Crops tops can be worn with shorts (denim, preferably) or fitted jeans.

2. Accessorize them with belts and necklaces to add some attitude.

3. Or pair them with harem pants and classy or statement heels.

4. But if you’re not into showing your tummy, you can wear a tank top, a bandeau, or any garment under it.

I tried wearing one today. I was slightly worried and scared that I might not pull off the look:

If you got Lookbook and Chictopia, you can hype the look here and here respectively.

My crop top is sheer so I wore a lace top under it. I accessorized by layering a couple of necklaces and putting on a handwoven belt for a more relaxed feel.

I also tried to add some cutesiness by wearing the accessories above. 🙂
